St. Croix Attractions
There are a broad range of places to visit during your trip to St. Croix. The U.S. Virgin Islands have spectacular beaches, laid-back bars, tropical rain forests, and many cool activities for you to take in as you relax during your vacation. All of these attractions can be found on the island of St. Croix.
Below are just a few of the things to do in St. Croix.
Hermit Crab Races
You cannot make your first visit to St. Croix without attending the Friday night Crab Races at Stixx, a waterfront pub in Christiansted. The hosts offer visitors the opportunity to sponsor and name a hermit crab for only a couple of bucks and you can cheer your crab to victory against your opponents.
Prizes consist of rum, rum, and rum, but the hermit crab races are more about the spirit of competition and love of the game.
Cruzan Rum Tour
The fine people at Cruzan Rum offer tours throughout the day of their world-class distillery in St. Croix. Enjoy the sights and smells of the rum distilling process before retiring to the hospitality room with your fellow tourists.
The open bar makes it all worth while, and you will want to pick up your maximum allotment of cheap rum for your trip home.
St. George Village Botanical Garden
The St. George Village Botanical Garden is a 16-acre garden in St. Croix that offers beautiful plants and trees in a historical setting. The garden is located on what was once a nineteenth-century Danish sugar cane plantation.
Maps are available at the entrance for self-guided (and self-paced!) tours. Check the official website for hours and admission.
