The Beaches of St. Croix

Whatever your reason for visiting St. Croix, your stay won't be complete without a visit to one of the island's exquisite beaches. Whether you prefer long, white stretches of sand or rock lined shores - you'll find something that pleases all of your senses on this exotic island.

While some may prefer to seek out secluded spots, which could of course be both calm and romantic, some of us desire access to a few facilities or conveniences. Therefore, we'll give you a few tips whatever way you're leaning - sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling or wreck diving.

For sunbathing with some extras, or if you're into snorkeling, you may want to check out some of the beaches with facilities - like Cane Bay, Chenay Bay Beach or Club St. Croix. These places have nice beach bars or restaurants, and their water-sport rental centers will have full rentals for good snorkeling or other water activities. If you're looking for something a little extra 'picturesque white Caribbean sand' you may want to head to Cormorant Beach Club.

Are you looking for something a little more peaceful or private, i.e. a more remote spot to sunbathe in? St Croix has plenty of those jewels as well. Maybe the most secluded beaches on the entire island are Isaac's Bay and Jack's Bay that offer silky white sand, palm trees and turquoise water - if you're up to the 20-30 min hike through untouched nature to get there of course (there is no vehicle access since both hawksbill and green turtles nest here). Maybe you are a body surfer? Or want to be close to a stunning barrier reef? Then the Grapetree beach may be for you. Snorkeling is amazing here, since the underwater scenery provides quite the view.

Whatever your preference, and whatever style enjoyment you seek, the beaches of St. Croix are sure to please. Every beach has its very own specialty, and its own individual sparkle of paradise.
